In an effort to promote outreach and increase research dissemination, TRANSMIC postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Ali R. Chaudhary (ER9b) and the University of Oxford’s International Migration Institute produced a video to showcase his TRANSMIC research on the relationship between immigrant political integration and transnational homeland-oriented political engagement. Using secondary survey data and quantitative analysis, he finds that immigrants who voted in European national elections are also likely to vote in homeland elections, suggesting a complementary relationship between integration and transnational engagement. The video is intended to help facilitate outreach and to increase the visibility of Dr. Chaudhary’s research through social media. The video is being promoted via IMI and the University of Oxford’s media networks and is currently being viewed on Youtube, Facebook, and Linkedin. The video has reached over 6000 people through IMI’s Youtube page and has already been viewed over 700 times!
