On 4 July 2017, TRANSMIC researchers Zvezda Vankova and Pauline Melin were invited to share their expertise on social protection in an ERC project accorded to Dr. Jean-Michel Lafleur from University of Liège. This ERC project called MiTSoPro stands for Migration and Transnational Social Protection in (post) crisis Europe. It aims at exploring immigrants’ strategies to access social protection in their host and home societies. The team of MiTSoPro composed of Dr. Jean-Michel Lafleur, Dr. Daniela Vintila and Angeliki Konstantinidou will compile information on welfare entitlements from 28 EU Member States and 12 non-EU countries into a single database and comparative index. Given their expertise, Zvezda Vankova and Pauline Melin were asked to comment on the codebooks for the index on unemployment, healthcare and family benefits.
