Polina Palash (ESR7) presented one of her thesis chapters entitled “Managing transnational social protection between multiple countries: More resources or constraints?” in the panel entitled “Migration resource? Latin Americans in Europe, spatial mobilities and identity tensions in post-crisis era” at the international congress of Latin American Studies Association (LASA) in Barcelona, Spain, May 23 – 26, 2018.

With about 12000 members, LASA is the largest professional association in the world joining experts and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America. This year the topic of LASA congress was dedicated to “Latin American Studies in a Globalized World”. The panel was organized by Geneviève Cortes (Université Paul Valéry Montpellier); discussant was Robin Cavagnoud (Ponticia Universidad Católica del Perú); and other presenters included Cristina Ramos Solis (University of Florida) and Itane Lacrampe-Camus (Univesité Paul Valéry Montpellier and Aix-Marseille Université).
